"i've got soul but i'm not a soldier" ~the killers

whenever they come on the radio i end up looking up who they are- look up tilly and the wall; they sing well. haha and a tap dancer is the purcussionist and they remind me of mates of state.

i feel like taking a moment and writing about my day. today like any good day i ate one of those 300 calorie fancy swiss roll guys Mom packs with my lunch. work was good but nothing out of the ordinary at the graveyard today. louie's last day, so i will miss him a lot even though he's usually resting up in his orange la-Z-boy chair in the corner. after watching the olympics for awhile, came home from work and went to the central cross teams' time trial and picnic. on the way saw a building newly burnt down on main street. that kind of thing, when it happens, works to make me think of my dad's woodshop's own mortality.

at ox bow ran into beth, and lauren was third for the girls (and she was pretty out there and as tan as lindsey!) after lindsey and caroline, and she was just ahead of brit who cramped (walking brit to her car she mentioned how lauren kept apologizing for passing her once i said to not to let her pass her. then i said, "well just tell her it won't happen again!..." brent ran an 18:11 woo! he can do better lol. and jim, stockbridge, and landon were under 19, so it's a good start. and these are motivated and positive guys. jim you have to lead this year.

the picnic was really nice, saw ben (off to illinois soon!) and kyle stycker, ted (my favorite ted!), all my favorite parents- stryckers booths mr peak (he reads this!) thalheimers duncans, all the guys and girls and the coaches. i can't say enough about them all, really. and will see them tuesday at the next meet. the only thing that had me wondering was coach homo's attitude (great coach don't get me wrong here) in his speech to parents- he spoke of the team wearing the striped jerseys (awesome! & unfair!) and not "dishonoring" them. well i think he should play that up instead of saying the negative. and i thought it was foolish of him to say that he doesn't want another 6-5, 4-6 (mediocre) season but then he goes and says he's going to work the team 100% before meet days, and will train for the conference meet and the state series because that's what's important (and it is but...); they won't be at full strengh or saved up on meet days and he's talking about the duel meet record?- this is a very contradictory thing to say. and with a team that has only 11 guys...i hope they pull it out.

i was thrown a little. the stryckers are most conservative family i know- still i love them to death. tonight mrs strycker said someone had said something of my partying at iu and she seemed fairly concerned (who's the rat!? no it doesn't matter anyone only has to ask Mom and Pops to know what we're up to in bloomington- they know all! anyways...). she cares so much (she does!) and i say it here because it means a whole lot to me that she's assured i'm off to a good start at school and will stay the course.

tony's gets bacck in town late tonight? or tomorrow. tonight is kurz's louie's and mike's last night in town. louie's up to something with ant so i might just catch up with them; i might. am going to give mike a call now. I HAVE TO SEE HIM.

to everyone off to school again or for the first time, stay healthy and happy and have a good time.

think good thoughts listen to interpol's Lengh of Love throw a frisbee SIGN THE GUESTBOOK.

p.s. Mom just intruded on my space ("intruded" sounds awkward but i like it) and without asking helped herself to one of the 6 jd chocolate's katie got me heh.

UPDATE 12:15 A.M.
