buying hotdogs. god damn.

2004-05-20-12:05 a.m.
gonna write later on a little about hotdog day (i tried to get the hotdog to rollover but...), on cemetery maintenance, mayor miller spotted in the New Yorker, ha!, chilli'in, jack's instant messages, the NIC track meet who was there who won, running into mike thomas at the biker fest downtown, seeing hunter at paul's. it'll be greeaaaat.

update @ 4:23 pm on thursday

hotdog day was a dandy. the cemetery guys were dying to have them some hotdogs. they said i was a good man for bringing hotdogs. tony ware jumped up and down in anticipation! ballpark franks mmm mmm! going with ant to track sectionals in goshen at 6 and then we're looking to go see hunter who's in town before he goes to minnesota and then seattle for the summer. i don't know what's on for tomorrow night - louie said he's going to northridge's variety show which sounded cool but i doubt i'll be out anywhere because of work saturday morning 9-12 at kramer's. louie also said friends of his are having a bonfire saturday but instead i'll be where erin's bday party is at wherever it may be whether at beccy's or andrea's or here i'll be there. my room is still bad i have to clean it and because of talking movies with ryan and co-workers at the picnic table to end all days, i've decided we have to see The Count of Monte Cristo and Ninja Turtles again as not-kids. at iu at our apartment in the fall we're having pool parties since the pool's right in front of our place and you're invited yes you you're invited woo!! today kurz on his way to school yelled at us in the cemetery truck and i fanned at meredith when we passed her going down hively. lauren is invited as pierre moran's middle school rep to the catherine wolfe award banquet (top female athlete in elkhart). got my report card and in creative writing there was one A and then i got the only A- in a field of lower than A-'s woo!! Dad said that when he mowed at the cemetery years back rabbits would hear the mower approaching get scared and dart under the mower thinking it a hole to hide in. life is mmm mmm good.

i'm so tired, but i have to write.

MONDAY

i went to egginks after track practice and hung out with ant for an hour. mandy, al, and fran were in the garage with mandy's soap stone sculpture for art. after so long i wished mandy goodluck at track sectionals the next day and then, looking for the guys, stopped at seevs' house and then at nick's, where his mom made me put my new yellow goodwill'd "muff divers" shirt on inside-out. she must've been bored because i was there with her for an hour or so, then i met nick mike and seevs at pinewood and from there at walker park, at the new (i'm not exaggerating!) trippy playground. afterwards seevs and nick spent the night at my house with seevs sacking out immediately on the brown-striped couch downstairs and nick and i staying up quite a while. after miller high life (of all the beers out there!) with nick he ended his night on the couch upstairs because he thought it'd be funny when my sister would wake up in the morning and would see him there (which it was!) and had a talk i'm glad we had with ellen as she was up too late.

Ant's writing - cemetery day 5

Woke up on Monday and had another rousing day at the cemetery. Randall drove me and Tony and the full timers commented on him driving his mom’s Envoy. “We know who’s got the money” they said. “Monger’s loaded!” “Charlie’s ripping off the City.” We got a new member to the crew, Zach. He’s a junior at Concordia University in Chicago. He’s a nice guy. Ryan razzed him about only spinning one row of a section, but it was his first day so he gets the benefit of the doubt. One of the more interesting things about working at the cemetery with memorial grads is hearing them talk about people we went to school with. Schofield is a senior in college, Geoff and Ryan are juniors and they still comment on Memorial. The Shalhorn girls, Chad Vanzille, Jessie Melcher, and Corey Miller were all brought up yesterday. Also, Heather Cook starts next week. That will be interesting I think.

Funniest moment of the day had to be a typical Ryan and old man Lonnie fight. Lonnie was trying to get ahold of Ryan’s hot pocket (which is a bad idea) and Ryan said he was going to puncture holes in all of Lonnie’s cans of Lemonade Lite. Well Ryan didn’t do that, but when Lonnie took the case out of the fridge I think Ryan knocked it out of his hands and then Lonnie kicked the box at Ryan. Ryan went and sat down and Lonnie came over and opened his pop on Ryan’s shoulder. It doesn’t sound that funny reading it I guess but just watching 21 year old Ryan and 60+ Lonnie acting like 12 year olds just makes me laugh hysterically. Funniest thing I’ve seen in a while. Gowdy’s bringing hotdogs on Thursday, Geoff’s going to Miami, Schofield’s heading to with Matt and Jim on Thursday/Friday. Ryan might be gone Friday, where does that leave us new kids? We’ll find out.

TUESDAY

[i'm getting really too tired, and just realized i forgot the hotdogs for hotdog day at the cemetery tomorrow. god damn. trips to krogers at 1:00 in the morning suck.]

what i remember of my day at the cemetery: not much

lonzo's word of the day: amazon monkeys. jim whines about lonzo's work ethic and lonnie comes back with, "ohh jim and his bellyachin'." and the weather was rainy at times and sunny on others. finished the day at the picnic day reminiscing with the guys. oh and all day i walked with a gape because my groin muscles would cramp up badly because of running with the track team monday oops.

sister's bi-county conference meet

LO WON THE MILE AND THE HALF WOO!!!! ran the mile in 5:48, ten seconds better than last week and running a great 3rd lap, and her 800 was 2:40. uncle roger came, too, and i haven't felt that proud in awhile. her teammates are wonderful girls and i was just thinking, it's funny being able to get along better with them than the girls i knew in middle school. lizzy and jenny the most. coach robinson and mr gove, it was cool seeing them. and and amber moore's sister ran for west side and i didn't realize till the last race who she was and why she looked so recognizable. amber's sister, that's why, heh.

the central girls team won track sectionals in warsaw!! congrats lindsay if you're reading!!!

after lo's meet i drove down main st to best buy and got the new morrissey cd and loretta lynn's album, produced and arranged by jack white. they are both excellent and absolutely cool!! matt and his sister jessie were there, too. matt got franz ferdinand which is also a RS 3.5 stars woo and he likes it.

and tony matt ant and katie r snuck up on me at home and they were looking to find some excitement in tony getting his haircut tomorrow with al, ha! they left to goof at wal-mart and i passed out on the couch relatively early to call it a night.

Ant's fill - cemetery day 6

Today work was really really fun. It is always fun but Louie is there finally and he’s on my team at Rice and he’s excellent to work with. He’s a really hard worker, and not that spinning is all that hard, but he picked up on it fast. Today Ryan made up a theme song for if our cemetery crew (at Rice) was a television sitcom called “Spinning Crew.” It can not be recreated, it was so witty and it rhymed and at the end he threw in the McDonald’s “I’m lovin’ it” theme. We imagined our crew in different poses/doing different things around the cemetery as the theme played, stopping their work and smiling at the camera. During sweeps month different member from other crews would have guest appearances with our crew. Today Louie was walking by as “Pizza the Hut” was coming out of the bathroom and he got creamed by the door. She apologized and it instantly became a scene in our show. Ryan imagined it happening, a laugh track playing and then him saying in a corny as hell voice, “Oh Kristi.” And then I threw in her throwing her arms up and saying “I don’t know.” We imagined a scene where Louie asks, “Why do they call this part baby land.” And Schofiel replies, “Because that’s where the babies are buried you douche.” (Laugh Track followed by “Oh Louie.” “I don’t know.” We went on like this where someone complains about spinning baby land and someone telling them “Don’t be such a baby.” The laugh track plays again while the theme song plays and the camera fades out. This is what are crew does while walking from section to section.

That was the big highlight of the day but other things today included the whole crew watching Jeopardy and making fun of contestants and their answers. It’s really great when everyone gets together for lunch or 2:30 break. We’re a motley crew that’s for sure, but I love every minute of it. Ryan really gets me laughing and Stubbs really gets the boys going. I’m kind of in the background as it is, but I speak up once and a while and they seem to like me, Ryan especially. Did I mention Gowdy’s bringing hotdogs? Other funny moment of the day, nothing major just struck me funny. Lonnie lumbers out of his truck as Ryan, Geoff, Stubbs, Schofield and I are at the picnic table and Ryan yells something at Lonnie to the effect of “Hey there Bonzo!” And Lonnie yells back at him out of nowhere, “YAHWOAWHAHANEAOV” Just incoherent screaming and it made me laugh so hard.

I’ve never looked forward to going to work so much in my life.

WEDNESDAY

at the cemetery day 7

lonzo's word of the day: ponopolous. ryan wants a girl who brings him food and she is a "tiger in a sack," as long as he can check those two boxes off he's good, he says. when lonzo was driving randall and me to prairie st cemetery, ryan alerted lonzo on the walkie-talkie and lonzo wouldn't answer it because ryan was just playing with him; i imagined ryan pressing the button over and over the whole ride but lonnie insisted the beeping didn't get to him ("yea," i told him, "i think it gets to me, though!"), and i think now that ryan would've only had to press it once and the beeping goes on till he answers lol. in other news, lonzo got randall and me donuts and oj today that was nice of him, and he gave us old cemetery dept shirts, a nice thought but they are 2X and we swim in them so there stubbs' now he's a big guy. randall's been monopolizing the good spinner and i haven't said anything because i become a full-time riding mower guy on monday, when heather (quiet, rich family, nice lesbian chick) comes to work as a part of our crew. jerry says he wants me to "get on the rider, maaan!" randall commented today and it struck me, that we should finish spinning the last sections of the cemetery tomorrow, "provided it doesn't rain."

the basement crew

tonight seevs beccy erin ant katie r and nick were here at once and at different times. it was the smallville season final and the last musical montage was a huge Casino rip-off, john noticed. had fun had a fight (involving wrinkle release and hair gel) with katie r!!! played ghostbusters with beccy erin and action figures and plus the joker and the penguin, and nick lined them up afterwards in a gay pose. beccy is "hella" flexible!! i had a rough night feeling tired getting random cramps in my thighs and wanting to do more but not. and now it's late and i have to get hotdogs woo.

i think a record was set, 14 people IMed me tonight.

read graber's story that he hasn't posted on his diary yet. it's really very good, and he used the word "incredulous" - good word. and he says you don't have to use a comma before quotes when it comes after a -ing word. neat.

come to think of it i think wal-mart's hotdogs might be cheaper hmm. kroger's is on the way, wal-mart's cheaper. gordon's food service would've been cheaper. let's see how this goes. i'd wanted to say more. track meet tomorrow to go to and i'd rather a nap. shit.

peace, love, and this really sucks.
