SIGN THE FUCKING GUESTBOOK! SAY SOMETHING! ...please.

i didn't have the time to finish the fat matt story i was working on, the draft would've only been...incomplete; a summary of the story's ideas. so i got up at 8 monday morning and wrote nonstop until 2:30 when class started. my story, "All-Night Diner," named after the modest mouse song, is good...and turned in on time, i lunped the weight parts in with a scene about moments.

it's about a fat guy (aptly he's addicted to food) who is moping in a booth at an open-24-hours diner, and a skinny, work-in-contrasts -- her sexiness-is-derived-from-this kind of girl -- girl (with an addiction to smoking) finds him and she suggestively wants to help him out with his single, unfulfilled, girl-less life. she feeds her addiction while he has a salad. he seemingly stands in his own way, feeling small, a way he never has before. the story has not been workshopped or graded yet and i doubt i'll post stories here till later on this summer haha, so i'll post a few passages i was happy with. they are out of sequence:

College hadn't been better than high school for him. It was only a progression thing. He was still fat and single. And in life, he'd still be fat and single, but with a degree. And until the day he died, there was a chance someday he'd be thin. Until that day, he'd acquired tolerance. Maybe he was healthy enough to say that he could stop if he wanted it badly enough. He didn't know what else to do. Isn't that the classic dilemma, though, when one doesn't know what else to do?

It was her explanatory style, her way of making sense of anything.

He thought about all of this, but a fat man's pick-up line would have been wasted on her. He couldn't think of one anyway. They were past the game now. And it's hard to condense oneself in a conversation when you are that large.

As he walked out the door, the taste of a Whopper outweighed the cost of the extra flab. The night was young, about his parents' age, and the sun was low in the sky as he proceeded to escort the night to its funeral, after a bite.

I think that's enough, he thought to himself as a smile cracked his lips. He was overweight, but he had a handsome face. Put in the right clothes he didn't even look all that big sometimes. It's important for a fat person to be able to smile in the same way a person should be able to smile on the worst day of his life.

"Stretch marks, womanly breasts, it's too big a part of how you see yourself. And that's everything girls don't want."

He wished ... that his difficult appeal would be apparent to her when seen, that for all the grief he got for being fat, big-boned, husky, tubby, a lunchbox, scantily fat, the Pillsbury Doughboy, a chronic eater, overly proportioned, and for growing into his body, that he got it.

He wanted to tell her about Atkins' diet, about how food was his kryptonite and cigarettes hers, and how he was going to change. Food had always been an addiction.

And he felt small, a way he never had before.

spent a well-worth-it 4 hours on matt's comp last night and mytunes'd 1350 songs for my efforts lol. monday a kid survied a suicide jump from ballantine, ant was there as they were hauling the dude in thru a window, eee. the story was listed on fark.com with the caption, "beer surprisingly not involved." tuesday's always suck (for example: i'm in doing psych instead of out biking!) but today it is cloudy and the air feels fine (as in fine!)...cool and breezy.

felipe and amber joined matt ant and me for lunch and i am enjoying the wilco album that is not even releasted yet, A Ghost is Born. it is evan's b-day on his fake id. save a tree, remove a bush!!!!!!! i like donkeys fwee fuuhaa!!!!! besides this, nothing is new.

Distant Lover

Hell yeah, this was my kind of weekend damn it! Damn a lot happened really... Since no ones updated with what happened I guess I'll takeo n the task, although I still welcome gowdy and anthony to write about it since they have a way of telling the stories better than I do. Well this past weekend there were a lot of guests down here at IU. But before they all came we had our fun too... this time it started on Thursday night..

So Thursday night Well Fed, the band from the Man Hammer house, was going to be playing at Rhino's along with two other bands. We all decided to head down there to see them. Well we got there a little too early so we ended up walking over to an awesome bookstore, Boxcar Books I think... Well this place had awesome, diversre stuff. Books, magazines, comics, t-shirts, everything. We spent a lot of time in there and before we knew it the show was about to start. So we went and saw all the bands play. The Man Hammer guys were just as entertaining on stage as they were back in their house, they even make small talk during the songs - it was like skits on a CD! So after that we were on a mission to find a party with Marla, Martha, and the Man Hammer crew. After making a brief stop at the Man Hammer house we went over to the Lad Mallet house to help someone celebrate their 20th birthday. I bet you're thinking whats up with the names of these houses huh? Your guess is as good as mine. Anyway, this party was good size when we got there. The lines for the kegs weren't too bad - they even had light and dark beer. So after drinking more cups of dark than light I found myself rapping along to Jurassic 5 again. I even ran into Beth from my Public Speaking class, second party I've ran into her at. Well after drinking a bit more, playing foosball, and just talking to everyone I decided to call it a night before everyone else and came home. But as I was leaving I saw Stubbs working his magic on some girl who invited everyone to a party the next night so I went home with thoughts of the Pirate Party...

Friday was pretty quick for me. I wasn't hung over but I decided to just sit aroudn the room, clean a little bit for our guests that were coming. After a while Tony and Hunter made it here from Purdue. An hour or so later Erin Wyne came from Elkhart. We walked down to kirkwood and got some dinner at the Village Deli - man they have great sandwichs but awful service. After dinner we made our rounds to the dorm to get ready for the Pirate Party. Once we looked as piratey as we could(pretty much consisted of wearing a bandana "pirate" style) we made our way to the party. It wasn't too hard to find and it seemed like there was barely anyone there... but thats alright, short lines for the keg make up for the lack of people. Before I knew it I was caught up in a drinking game, which was new to me - Flippy Cup! It basically consists of two teams, each member of the team has a cup of beer that they have to drink they flip the cup and make it land on its... uh opening? Well its a relay game and my team was bad ass. We won all six games! So after playing that for a while I walked out to get more beer and it seemed like there were twice as many people there. After a while the two kegs ran dry... but Marla and Martha came to the rescue with another party. No one seemed to want to go except me so I just went with them and a group which mostly consisted of drunk loud ass girls. Well on the way to next party I saw a cop car pass, uh oh... The closer I got to the party the more it became apparent why the cop was in the neighborhood, this party was packed with people and a live band! Well after staying at this party enough to realize it would take hours to get a cup of beer due to the line at the keg we decided to leave, plus Marla was pretty sure it was going to get busted. We were about to leave when the rest of the group sans Stubbs was trying to find this place. They found it and we made our way to a safe location - the Man Hammer. We only stayed long enough so I could pee then we were on our way back home. Right after we left the Man Hammer we heard a cop siren off in the distance... the way towards the last party we just left. Good thing we left huh? After walking for a few we met up with Stubbs at the VP, got some snacks and headed to Gowdy's. I called it a night early again and walked Marla and Martha home. Came home and had a nice phone call for a while...

Woke up Saturday and had some late afternoon breakfast with everyone. It was a beautiful day so Stubbs, Tony, Hunter, and I decided to take it to the basketball court! If you've never seen me do a double pump lay up then you're missing out! Haha... after a while the basketball became a soccer ball and Hunter showed up why we should all fear his skills. After a while the rest of this weekends guests showed up, the Gowdys! G-Baby's mom, dad, and little sister came down to see him compete in the Little 50 on Sunday. The gowdys went on a walk while the rest of us stayed in the room to finish watching Kill Bill Vol. 1. A little after it was over we got a call from the Gowdys, they were ready for dinner. Well nate took off with his running team so the rest of us went to Mother Bears. If you're ever down here then you have to go to Mother Bears. The pizza there is probably one of the top three pizzas I've ever had. After that the rest of the night consisted of walking around with the group, Gowdy's parents decided to head to the Union while the rest of us took a nice stroll around campus. Man this campus is really nice looking... the walk was pretty uneventful but this extremely drunk hostile looking guy approached us at one point but all he did was ask us if we knew where Spritzer, Indiana was. None of us really knew but then he just stumbled his ass away. Well Stubbs, Erin, Lauren, and I came back to the room to get some sleep..

Then Sunday, the day of the big race! Lauren's parents called early to see if she wanted to get breakfast... I answered the phone and I thought she said she did so I told them she did, rurns out she really didn't want to though - hey it was early, I couldn't really tell is she was nodding yes or shaking her head no. Went back to sleep for a few then got up and had some late breakfast with Stubbs and Erin. The Gowdys came back to the room and got Lauren's stuff to take off towards the race. We met up with Anthony, Tony, and Hunter down at Urban Outfitters and hung around there for a little bit. Went back to G-Baby's dorm to get all his team t-shirts to show our support. We walked back to Wright to pick up Erin's car, she was gonna drive us to the track, and we walked through a lawn littered with beautiful women trying to get a tan... ahh, too bad we all looked like douches in our matching t-shirts. So then we all pile into Erin's SUV and head towards the track. We tried to pull into the track parking lot, thought we couldn't and had to make an evasive manuever to get into the parking lot across the street. Too bad the people behind us weren't paying attention because they sure as hell rear ended Erin's SUV! None of us were really hurt... well Tony was in the back back and he was taken a little by the hit but I gave him some special medicine haha! Then came the race. Gowdy's team Pi Omega Tau(get it? POT!) had quite the following. We cheered and they did an awesome job. I have to admit Gowdy impressed me, he passed more people than anyone else on his team. There was also an Army ROTC guy that ran about oh... 25 laps. See the race is 50 laps around the track thats to be divided among 4 team members. But after that we had to say our goodbyes to G-Baby's family and to the Egginks for a few weeks. Before long though we had to go see DAVE CHAPPELLE here at the IU Auditorium though! It proved to be just what I thought, bad ass! After that had some dinner with everyone and watched the T'Wolves beat the Nuggets in the first game of their playoff series. Damn this week is going to be nice with so much basketball on.

So that was my weekend. I'm not sure if that was my longest entry ever but damn its up there. Next weekend should prove to be pretty exciting too.. I hear it gets a little crazy down here for Little 500. Sorry I haven't updated too often lately, I'll have to get my ass in gear and I will. I'll definitely update by Wednesday at the latest. Why am I saying sorry...? I don't really know to be honest but sign the guestbook and let me know if you accept the apology or not.
