IF YOU READ ANYTHING HERE, READ THIS!!

Dear Fellow Bloggers and Blog Readers,

This concerns a website I'm making and your part in it...

Hey all, this is VERY IMPORTANT!! I am doing a case-study of weblogs, journals, online diaries, and blogs (they are all basically the same). This is for my tech course at Indiana University, and I would like to include my friends in it because it is going to be really really damn cool.. and I could really really use your personal opinions.



WHAT I'M ASKING IS 1) for anyone who reads this and keeps a blog, to either email me, sign my guestbook, or even better, WRITE AN ENTRY of your own explaining your reasons, motivations, and predispositions for sharing / expressing / opening your observations, phases, hard times, influences, and good experiences for cross-referencing, feedback, venting, attention, or your own state of mind and peace, etc? It's okay if it's short or not very long...2) If you DON't keep a blog, what is your opinion on why I or anybody else you know of keeps them? Why do you read them??...3) What do we and others have to gain and lose by participating in others' and posting our own thoughts daily, weekly, and occasionally? What do you appreciate and like most (or don't like at all) about this new social whatever?...4) And maybe, if you were doing a report on blogs yourself, include what you would want to bring to the table that you're not sure I am seeing.



As for the PROJECT SITE ITSELF, I have already drawn a layout and rough storyboard. I'm going to be covering: The "Blogosphere" Explained; Reasons for Our Blogs; Blogging as New Journalism; Corporate, Political, Media & Beyond Blogging! and I'll have a Bibliography and sourcebook at the end. My working title is "Hello, Blog!" and the sub-title is "Technically simple, socially complex! Bloggers: A Story Worth Telling..." I'm taking this pretty seriously so it's going to be in-depth. Also, it's going to be designed in the spirit of a blog, so it will be like a blog about blogs. Super cool, huh?! ..and there will be a link to it here in a few weeks!



I hope everybody takes this to heart!! PLEASE DO!! YOU'RE SUPER PRETTY WONDERFUL PRETTY PLEASE DO!! Don't be strangers! Really, and I can't imagine it taking very long to give me your fill. How could we all get along with things if we all kept to ourselves?! I'm thinking it could be fun to try and explain to yourself "why you do what you do," anyway.. might very-definitely learn something, too! If you are sincerely interested and have any more specific questions, get ahold of me! Whelp, THANKS A LOT ALL!! hasta!
